PDC for Everybody
Park distance control has been an innovative technology to ensure that drivers can detect obstacles around their vehicles while parking. Although the technology has been around for almost 15 years already – making its debut at around the same time that the stop-start feature was introduced to the commercial vehicle market – the technology is still not a standard feature on all modern passenger cars.
As a result, chances are that your vehicle does not have a display screen or any form of sensor to let you know when you are about to hit a kerb or wall with your rear bumper while reversing into a parking space, although more expensive vehicles might be fitted with PDC systems as standard. For those of us who drive a relatively small and affordable car without PDC, Electronic Fitment Centre has a variety of options to ensure that your car can let you know when the parking sensors pick up something that you cannot spot from the driver’s seat, whether you have an older model car that uses steel bumpers or a newer model with plastic bumpers.
Our Selection of Park Distance Control Systems
Starting with our options for the rear part of the vehicle, we offer a rear-mounted system with a buzzer to alert the driver when obstacles enter the sensors’ range. These sensors use an echo-like pulse system to detect any obstacle and the distance between the sensors and the obstacles once they enter the sensors’ range, alerting the driver with a distinct buzzing noise when the obstacles are in close proximity to the vehicle. This park distance control system makes life easier for any driver and fits on any type of car, with rubber sensors for steel rear bumpers and plastic sensors for modern plastic bumpers.
This system is also available with a display option, giving you a visual indication of the situation at the rear end of your car while reversing. Should you have a bigger vehicle than the regular sedan or hatchback, we also offer a twin-sensor model with display capability to grant even more information to the driver while their car is moving rearwards. For the front of the car, we offer a system with a switch and a buzzer to ensure that you can activate the system only when needed, as well as a variant that offers a display instead of a buzzer, giving you more visual information as you go about parking your car.
If you are interested in these park distance control systems, whether for cars with steel bumpers or plastic bumpers, please feel free to peruse our website for more information or contact us directly with further enquiries.
