Everybody should have a Bluetooth car kit in their vehicle that gives them hands-free operation of their cellphone. If you don’t have one, you risk falling foul of the law and may incur a hefty fine or, worse, cause an accident due to being distracted by your phone. We offer you a choice of Parrot units – arguably the leading brand of Bluetooth car kit on the market. Everything is available, from a budget-friendly entry-level unit without a display to a top-of-the-range unit that has everything but the kitchen sink.

Parrot CK3000 Series

The Standard CK3000 Evo Bluetooth car kit has no display and a simple 3-button user interface. Despite its entry-level status, it can store up to 150 names per phone, has an adjustable external microphone, and features noise-reduction, full duplex, and echo-cancelling for crystal-clear calls. One step up is the Display CK3100 LCD with a monochrome LCD screen that can display your cellphone’s information, such as the incoming call’s number, the phonebook, and the last number called, as well as operating menus, contacts, and user settings. Its phonebook can store up to 1000 names per paired phone and it features all the call-quality features of the CK3000 Evo.

Parrot MKi9000 Series

The entry-level MKi9000 has no display and six buttons to control phone calls and music playback. Besides the CK3000 series’ call-quality features, it also offers automatic phonebook synchronisation, multi-user voice recognition, and a text-to-speech synthesiser for the names in the phonebook. For playing music, it has iPod, USB, and line-in connections. The MKi9100 Plug & Play has most of the same features but can store up to 2000 contacts per phone (8000 contacts maximum) and has a separate OLED display and six Bluetooth audio profiles. The MKi9200 has all the features the MKi9100 has, but with a separate 2,4-inch colour display that can display a lot more information. The Parrot Unika Bluetooth car kit is an installed interface for any of the MKi9000 devices, linking them to the existing factory steering-wheel controls of your car. It is compatible with all vehicles using CAN-bus or R-Ladder systems.

Flagship Model

The Asteroid Smart is the top-of-the-range Parrot model and far more than just a Bluetooth car kit. It is a fully featured, double-DIN-sized Bluetooth car kit and Internet-enabled smart device running Android and incorporating a full-colour 6,2-inch screen with GPS and turn-by-turn voice navigation to complement the built-in amplifier with RCA and subwoofer outputs.
