Microdots: A legal requirement for vehicles since 2012

Since 1 September 2012, it has been compulsury that all new vehicles be fitted with microdot systems that comply with standard spesification SANS 534-1. * This is because assets, particularly vehicles, are substantially less likely to be stolen if they are protected by this high-tech, high convenient and very effective theft deterrent.

Microdot technology is endorsed by the SA Government and is supported by the SAPS.

Businesses Againsts Crime stats reveal a 50% reduction in theft, hijacking, and an improved recovery rate of 87%, when vehicles were marked with microdots.
